Sena Architects is an innovative architectural practice based in Olhão, Portugal, specializing in contemporary and sustainable architecture with a strong emphasis on rehabilitation. 

We look for a timeless and simple architecture which embraces silence; respects the past and Nature. We strive to make simple, well-articulated forms based on the simplicity and beauty of materials and the connection with their surroundings. We believe that the past, tradition, and memories should not be forgotten but incorporated in the future. 

We strive to achieve sustainable buildings through simple steps. Starting with a design that fits the location and taking into consideration the environmental conditions there. We use methods that allow maximum efficiency and materials that require little effort to extract, are recycled, or local. 

We believe each project is unique and thus approach it with a clear mind, searching for the best solution, without any pre-conceived ideas. 

Our clients are the focus of our practice; they are the designers of their life and must be heard. We work side by side, providing guidance and technical support in order to turn your visions into reality.

We believe that the past, tradition, and memories should not be forgotten, but rather integrated into the future.

We strive to achieve sustainable buildings through simple, thoughtful steps. It begins with good design — one that fits the location and responds to existing environmental conditions. We employ methods that ensure maximum efficiency and materials that are low-impact, recycled, or locally sourced.

Each project is unique, and we approach it with an open mind, seeking the best solution without preconceptions.

Founded by architect Tatiana Bento in 2009 in the United Kingdom, Sena Architects relocated to Olhão in 2013, where it has since developed its main architectural practice. Focused on rehabilitation and consultancy, the Sena Architects team follows all stages of the architectural process — from concept to completion.
Our working method integrates a range of project phases, including Preliminary Study, Planning Permission, and Detailed Design, which can also be complemented with interior architecture, bespoke furniture design, and lighting design. In this way, the team is committed to delivering diverse and personalised solutions and support.

Our portfolio reflects an approach that values the identity and character of buildings and places, respecting heritage while embracing contemporary, functional, and aesthetically coherent solutions that respond to their surroundings.
The team at Sena Architects mainly works on residential, tourism, commercial, and cultural projects — from rehabilitation to new construction.

In addition to project development, we provide consultancy services in planning procedures and feasibility studies, often in cooperation with other professionals and offices in various fields, to best support our clients.
We also collaborate with the real estate sector, assessing properties to determine their rehabilitation potential and preparing technical reports.

At Sena Architects, we value proximity, continuity, and adaptability to each client. Rather than imposing a style, we help each project find its own voice.
