Casa Eusébio Ramires is a multi-family residential project located in the center of Olhão, forming a connection between Rua Eusébio Ramires and Rua Manuel Tomé Viegas Vaz. It is a pre-1951 building in which the aim is to preserve the original architectural identity while respecting the traditional elements that characterize the historic cubist city of Olhão.
The building extends over three floors and proposes the creation of two independent residential units, each with fully autonomous access from separate public streets, ensuring functionality, privacy, and independence for both fractions.
Both units benefit from open views over the Ria Formosa and the Algarve mountains, enhancing spatial quality and strengthening the relationship with the surrounding landscape. The project maintains the volumetric coherence of the existing building, promoting a harmonious integration within the urban fabric.
The intervention values the use of traditional and local materials, such as lime plaster, natural stone, and timber-framed windows, as well as the preservation of characteristic architectural elements including friezes, parapets, and proportioned openings, reinterpreting the traditional architectural language in a contemporary way.
