Casa Pátio

Casa Pátio is a project of rehabilitation, alteration and expansion of an existing building in Fuseta, Olhão. The project goes through the restructuring of the existing floor and the addition of a new one, providing the house with better conditions of habitability and healthiness. The access to Casa Pátio is carried out from Rua da Ponte Grande. We enter the house through a metal door, which opens onto a narrow outdoor corridor leading onto a courtyard with arcades. This courtyard serves as an outdoor seating area and is also the distribution area for the entire house. On the first floor we find the private area of the house, provided with two bedrooms both with independent sanitary facilities, developed to take full advantage of the small area available. We access them through arched openings in the courtyard, one of which will lead us to the second floor. Arriving at this second floor, we find an area that works in open space and that gives us access to a small kitchen and a living area. In order to take full advantage of the natural light, parallel to the arches, we have 3 chest openings that help in the distribution of the open space, making the whole space develop around them. In the roof terrace, we can find a space for conviviality and contemplation of the incredible view. This space is structured with an outdoor kitchen with dining aera and technical aeras, a leisure area and the traditional and characteristic chimney of Olhão.
