Casa Cheia

Casa Cheia is a project for the alteration and expansion of an existing residential building located in Sítio da Laranjeira, in Santa Bárbara de Nexe, in the municipality of Faro. The proposal concerns a single-storey dwelling set within a plot with distinct topographical characteristics and a strong relationship with the surrounding rural and urban context, seeking to enhance its identity and integration into the landscape.
The existing building is subject to an intervention aimed at reorganizing and expanding the residential program, extending it to two floors in order to improve functionality, comfort, and living conditions. The new design establishes a dialogue with the original structure, respecting its volume while introducing a contemporary architectural language that remains harmonious with the surrounding environment.
Externally, the project includes the creation of leisure areas, such as a swimming pool, landscaped gardens, and shaded spaces, carefully integrated into the site’s topography. The building’s placement takes advantage of solar orientation, prioritizing southern exposure and the creation of comfortable and protected outdoor areas.
