Casa Micano

The house on Rua dos Micanos in Olhão, a pre-1951 building located in the historic center, underwent design changes during construction.
The project included the previously approved extension, with the creation of new floors and the adaptation of the top floor into an office, sanitary facilities, and outdoor areas, including a terrace and kitchen.
Internally, the layout was reorganized with the creation of an entrance hall, reconfiguration of rooms, and improvements in functionality, natural light, and ventilation.
The existing staircases were adjusted to improve dimensions and comfort, in compliance with current regulations.
The façade was updated with aligned openings and the use of traditional materials, such as wooden frames, local stone elements, and wrought iron railings, ensuring better integration with the surroundings.
The intervention focused on improving living conditions while respecting the architectural language and urban context of the building.
