This project provides the city of Tavira and its surroundings with a Shopping mall, something the area lacked. Specific conditions dictate its development and final image: The shape of the site brings us to this long building. The street that crosses it can not be redirected, so we must incorporate it. Two levels of parking are built above ground, which give us the necessary height for the street to go underneath the shopping mall. This also gives natural ventilation to the parking levels. The two upper levels contain the inward-facing shops. The first level contains the “supermarket” and other small shops; on the second level we find shops, a cinema and the food court with a balcony facing the sea. The long building offers a variety of views inside. The angles, the voids and the different skylights give the shopper constantly changing scenarios.
